QTracker

If you want to play a game in multiplayer mode, you must find a server, preferably one from your own country. Unfortunately, a game's menus won't satisfy all your needs and you may have difficulties finding a server. QTracker can help you find hundreds of servers, for a wide variety of games, on a single interface. Furthermore, it allows you to manage your games, regardless if you play them over the Internet or a LAN, find your friends, watch multiplayer matches, administer servers and much more.

Although QTracker comes with a price tag, purchasing a license is not mandatory. You can use the software for as long as you want, without any restrictions. In other words, it is up to you if you wish to support future developments, by paying for the program. QTracker works on all popular Windows platforms and it can be installed in less than a minute.

When you launch the program for the first time, a wizard will guide you through a few initial configurations. You must specify your Internet connection speed, set up an auto-login feature and select your installed games. QTracker supports hundreds of recent or older games. You just need to select a listed game and target its executable, with a standard browsing option.

The main interface displays your selected games in a tree structure, on the left hand side. You can search for standard multiplayer matches or modded versions. The results are listed in the central region of the interface, along with numerous statistics, like player numbers, used maps, response times, addresses, ranks and more. The listed servers can be filtered by region and country, on the left side of the interface, where you can also select music and game filters.

Selecting a game's executable is optional, but it will help you launch a game or join a server directly from the program's interface. While a server is selected, you can hit an option, on the program's toolbar, to connect to that server. It is also possible to bring up a properties window, on which you can view additional information, on several tabs, for the selected server. Additionally, selecting a server will display the players, their frags and other statistics in the lower region of the interface. You may right click a player and select an option to add him or her to a friends list.
